Integrating discrete choice models with MATSim scoring

چکیده
Agent-based transport simulations rely on realistic representation of agents’ movements in the system, but also simulation choice making processes that resemble reality well. The MATSim framework uses scoring-based co-evolutionary algorithm to achieve this, based principle utility maximization. Discrete models are another common tool planning which same principle. Through a toy example, paper at hand shows direct use discrete parameters is not technically sound approach, consistent integration can be achieved by generating deterministic pseudo-errors cryptographic hash functions. Further caveats with integrating scoring discussed.

Integrating BDI Agents into a MATSim Simulation
MATSim is a mature and powerful traffic simulator, used for large scale traffic simulations, primarily to assess likely results of various infrastructure or road network changes. More recently there has been work to extend MATSim to allow its use in applications requiring what has been referred to as “within day replanning”. In the work described here we have coupled MATSim with a BDI (Belief D...
متن کاملSocial Discrete Choice Models
Human decision making underlies data generating process in multiple application areas, and models explaining and predicting choices made by individuals are in high demand. Discrete choice models are widely studied in economics and computational social sciences. As digital social networking facilitates information flow and spread of influence between individuals, new advances in modeling are nee...
متن کاملDiscrete Choice Models
Discrete choice models are employed (as the name suggests) to explain a discrete choice that an individual makes. For example, such a choice might be whether or not to join the labor force, whether or not to buy a car, whether or not to continue on to graduate school, whether or not to accept a job with a consulting rm, or whether or not to sign up with an internet provider. Later in the cours...
متن کاملDiscrete choice models
Discrete choice models have played an important role in transportation modeling for the last 25 years. They are namely used to provide a detailed representation of the complex aspects of transportation demand, based on strong theoretical justiications. Moreover, several packages and tools are available to help practionners using these models for real applications, making discrete choice models ...
متن کاملDiscrete choice models with multiplicative error terms
We propose a multiplicative speci cation of a discrete choice model that renders choice probabilities independent of the scale of the utility. The scale can thus be random with unspeci ed distribution. The model mostly outperforms the classical additive formulation over a range of stated choice data sets. In some cases, the improvement in likelihood is greater than that obtained from adding obs...
